Another recommendation! Standing Against the Wind - it's about a girl who finds courage she did not know she possessed when life's forces threaten to knock her down. What Roxanne C. (821) loved was the "meaning behind it. Any kid would enjoy it!" (Now you don't just have to take my word for it....)
Did you ever read The Giver by Lois Lowry? If you did you must read the Last Book In The Universe. I did and found it most interesting, and then I did my own comparison. I was surprised at what I found. I think it would be worth your while to try it out.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you like The Last Book in the Universe (I do, too)you might want to look at Bradbury"s Fahrenheit 451 - both deal with a book derprived world that I would not like at all. I'd be out of a job, too. come to think of it...
